One of the highlights for the kids of the two days they spent on their great grandparents' property was picking and devouring all of the oranges and other fruit on the property.
"Purple Monkey" accompanied Anna wherever she went, and by the end of the trip was a bit dustier and "loved in."
Anna loved exploring all the paths and behind all the bushes and trees.
An apple from one of the many apple trees.
Nate's great grandmother recalled how Tiffany used to love to sit up on this tree. There is an owl box further up in the tree, and later during the afternoon we all startled it and it screeched out into the sky in a big commotion!
The garden was glorious, especially for us Portlanders who, in June, were still in often overcast mid-sixty degree days.
Steve walks with his grandfather and uncle Larry on the property. His aunt and uncle Laura and Lisa, along with their sons Zane and Tristan, joined us for dinner on our first afternoon.
Tristan shows Nate how to roll down the hill.
Nate then proceeded to roll down the hill again and again delightedly.
Meanwhile, Anna,, Pink, and Purple Monkey relax in the back patio.
The next morning, Steve and Nate take a walk around the pond.
Anna's ready to put in some mileage with Purple Monkey
Big Brother comes to play too.
